COURSE TITLE: NIOSH-Approved Spirometry Training
This course is designed for persons who will conduct lung function testing. Successful completion of this course will satisfy NIOSH and OSHA training requirements for testing persons exposed to silica dust, cotton dust, asbestos, and other workplace exposures.

The following course is offered in person and online.

COURSE TITLE: In-Person Spirometry Refresher (NIOSH-Approved)
Refresher training in now required by NIOSH every 5 years for those students who wish to maintain their NIOSH spirometry training certification. This one day NIOSH-approved refresher course will review changes in spirometry standards and guidelines published by the American Thoracic Society (ATS) and European Respiratory Society (ERS). In addition to learning how to improve testing technique, this class provides the student additional insight towards the understanding, significance, and interpretation of lung function tests. This program will also provide an opportunity to discuss problems not foreseen during initial training and provides answers to commonly encountered problems during patient testing.

COURSE TITLE: NEW! Online Spirometry Refresher (NIOSH-Approved)
This online, self-paced course fulfills requirements for NIOSH-Approved Spirometry Refresher training necessary for compliance with some OSHA standards. Course content was developed by Dr. McKay (University of Cincinnati) and includes the most recent changes to ATS-ERS spirometry standards. Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a NIOSH-Approved Spirometry Refresher training certificate.

COURSE TITLE: Interpretation of Spirometry: Beyond the Numbers
A special one day course designed for the physician and other health professionals with responsibility for interpretation of spirometry tests. This comprehensive one day course will provide the health professional the tools needed to interpret spirometry test results, evaluate test quality, and learn new methods to identify significant changes in lung function with time.

This course is designed for persons working in family practice, internal medicine, and other clinical facilities. Students will learn basic fundamentals of spirometry testing.

COURSE TITLE: NEW Online Fundamentals of Spirometry
This interactive online, self-paced course is designed to teach essential spirometry testing procedures consistent with current ATS-ERS spirometry guidelines. It includes; terminology, how to administer a test, testing technique, acceptability/repeatability criteria, how to read tracings, and much more. This course is designed for persons who plan to conduct spirometry testing in an office, clinical and some occupational health settings. It can help prepare respiratory therapists taking the RPFT exam and occupational health nurses taking the COHN exam. It is not designed for persons who need a NIOSH-approved spirometry training course.
