Program Evaluations and Audits

Dr. McKay can help employers comply with OSHA requirements to conduct on-site workplace evaluations. The revised Respiratory Protection Standard (OSHA 1910.134) requires employers to conduct regular evaluations and audits to ensure the respiratory protection program is being properly implemented. Confidential, independent audits help employers identify and correct deficiencies in their respirator program (if they exist).

Evaluations include (but are not limited to):

Compliance with the new 1998 OSHA changes to the respirator standard.

Adequacy of the written respirator program.

An assessment of the respirator selection criteria.
(i.e., is the respirator used appropriate for the hazard?)

Are the respirators being used, stored, and maintained properly?

   Adequacy of training program.

   Adequacy of record keeping requirements.
